Studio Practice Sessions

Have you completed the 4-Week Jewellery Making for Beginners Course or attended one of my Gemstone Workshops and would like more time in the studio to continue learning and creating?
 
My Studio Practice Sessions are designed exclusively for these returning students who would like access to a fully equipped jewellery studio while working on their own projects at their own pace.
 
These sessions are not structured workshops or formal classes. Instead, they provide dedicated studio time where you can use the tools and equipment available, practise the skills you've already learned, and continue developing your jewellery-making abilities. I'll be on hand throughout the session to offer guidance, answer questions, troubleshoot challenges, and demonstrate additional techniques when needed.
 
Whether you're finishing a project started in a workshop, experimenting with new ideas, or building confidence through practice, these sessions offer a supportive and creative environment in which to work.
 
Session Details
 
* Available exclusively to students who have previously attended one of my workshops or short courses.
* Bookable in 2-hour sessions.
* Available Thursday to Saturday, 10am – 4pm
* Maximum of 4 students per session.
* Access to studio tools and equipment.
* Guidance and technical support available as needed.
* Work on your own projects and designs.
 
Included
 
* Consumables like sawblades, sandpaper, flux, solder, pickle, patina are all available for you to use as needed.
* Tea & coffee, and the occasional snack. 
 
Materials

Students will have to bring their own metals, gemstones, and materials for their projects.  But for your convenience, a selection of silver, copper, and brass is available to purchase in the studio, along with a small selection of gemstones.
 
Please note that these sessions are intended as supervised studio access rather than a fully taught workshop. While guidance and assistance are available, students are expected to work independently on their own projects.
 
Session Availability
 
Studio Practice Sessions are available Thursday to Saturday between 10:00am and 4:00pm, subject to studio availability.
 
As workshop schedules vary from week to week, sessions cannot be booked directly online. Instead, please get in touch to register your interest and discuss your preferred day and time. I will then confirm the available session options with you.
 
This helps ensure that studio space, tools, and individual guidance are available for all students.

The Studio
 
Workshops are held in my home-based studio in Feilding, Manawatū. The space is bright, well-ventilated, and comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests — perfect for small groups who want to learn, create, and connect. A small kitchenette is available for refreshments, and there’s plenty of free parking on site.
 
What to bring
 
Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes, no loose long sleeves or scarfs, and tie back long hair. This is for your own safety while we use the blowtorch to solder your pieces.
