Friday 27th February - 10am to 2pm
Beginner friendly. This is a non-soldering workshop
Ages 16+ (students under 16 must be accompanied by a parent)
4 hours total
With the recent significant rise in sterling silver prices, copper or brass are now offered as alternative metal options for workshops. Simply choose your preferred metal from the drop-down menu when booking.
In this exciting workshop you can choose to use skeleton leaf or a piece of lace to design and imprint a unique texture on your metal using a jewellers rolling mill. This workshop is perfect for beginners and anyone wanting to experience the art of silversmithing in a relaxed and inspiring setting.
Throughout the day, you’ll learn traditional silversmithing techniques, including how to:
* Measure, cut, and shape metals to form your ring
* Use a jeweller’s saw for cutting metal
* Add unique textures using the rolling mill
* Add patina to your ring to highlight the textures
* Polish your finished rings to a bright or matte shine
You’ll leave with a stunning ring that’s been designed and handcrafted entirely by you.
Your Workshop Includes
* 4 hours of guided tuition and demonstrations to make one ring
* Sterling silver, Copper or Brass sheet metal
* Texturing pieces, saw blades, sandpaper
* Full use of studio tools and equipment
Additional materials are available for purchase if you’d like to expand your design.
Lunch Break
You are welcome to take a short break whenever you feel the need for it. Tea, coffee and a few light snacks will be available, but please bring your own lunch if you think the day will get too long without a proper meal.
The Studio
Workshops are held in my home-based studio in Feilding, Manawatū. The space is bright, well-ventilated, and comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests — perfect for small groups who want to learn, create, and connect. A small kitchenette is available for refreshments, and there’s plenty of free parking on site.
What to bring
Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes, no loose long sleeves or scarfs, and tie back long hair. This is for your own safety while we use the blowtorch to solder your pieces.
Whether you’re new to silversmithing or just love to create, this workshop is a relaxed and rewarding way to spend the day — and you’ll go home wearing your own handcrafted ring.
Your booking confirmation (including venue address details) will be sent once payment has been received.
Fri 27 Feb - Adjustable Textured Ring Workshop
I understand that plans sometimes change, and I’ll always do my best to be flexible. However, because each workshop requires advance preparation and materials, the following cancellation terms apply to all bookings:

Cancellations made 7 days or more before the scheduled workshop date will incur a 30% cancellation fee.
-
Cancellations made within 6 days of the workshop date will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
-
Cancellations within 24 hours of the workshop, or failure to attend on the day, are non-refundable.
If you’re unable to attend, you’re welcome to transfer your booking to another person or reschedule to a future workshop date (subject to availability).
In the unlikely event that I need to cancel or postpone a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, you’ll receive a full refund or the option to reschedule to another suitable date.
