This workshop is hosted by the Marton Arts and Crafts Centre. Beginner friendly
Ages 13+ (students under 16 must be accompanied by a parent)
3 - 4 hours total
Design and create two pairs of dangling earrings using sterling silver, copper and brass metals. This workshop is perfect for beginners, for friends to share a creative Saturday morning, or a private group that wants to celebrate a special event. During this workshop you'll make two pairs of earrings that you can wear as soon as the workshop is over, and you’ll learn a range of traditional silversmithing techniques, including how to:
* Use a jeweller’s saw to cut designs out of your metal
* Use a blowtorch safely to solder your metals together
* Add your own textures and patterns with hammers and tools, or add names with letter stamps
* Finish your earrings with a patina to highlight the textures
You’ll leave with two stunning dangling earrings ready to wear everyday.
Your Workshop Includes
* 3 - 4 hours of guided tuition and demonstrations to make two pairs of earrings
* Sterling silver, Copper or Brass plate and wire
* Solder, saw blades, sandpaper
* Full use of studio tools and equipment
Additional materials are available for purchase if you’d like to expand your design.
Lunch Break
You are welcome to take a short break whenever you feel the need for it. Tea, coffee and a few light snacks will be available, but please bring your own lunch if you think the day will get too long without a proper meal.
What to bring
Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes, no loose long sleeves or scarfs, and tie back long hair. This is for your own safety while we use the blowtorch to solder your pieces.
Whether you’re new to silversmithing or just love to create, this workshop is a relaxed and rewarding way to spend the day — and you’ll go home wearing your own handcrafted earrings.

Please note that a minimum of two participants is required for this workshop to run. If fewer than two bookings are received, you may choose to transfer your booking to the next available workshop or receive a full refund.
18 July - Two Pairs of Dangling Earrings Workshop
I understand that plans sometimes change, and I’ll always do my best to be flexible. However, because each workshop requires advance preparation and materials, the following cancellation terms apply to all bookings:

Cancellations made 7 days or more before the scheduled workshop date will incur a 30% cancellation fee.

Cancellations made within 6 days of the workshop date will incur a 50% cancellation fee.

Cancellations within 24 hours of the workshop, or failure to attend on the day, are non-refundable.
If you’re unable to attend, you’re welcome to transfer your booking to another person or reschedule to a future workshop date (subject to availability).
In the unlikely event that I need to cancel or postpone a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, you’ll receive a full refund or the option to reschedule to another suitable date.
